Im a professional musician with experience teaching privately and in schools and perform sessions for a variety of artists, appearing at festivals and on radio shows. I have studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) with Paul Geary (George Michael, Geri Halliwell) and at the British and Irish Institute Of Modern Music (BIMM) where I received my Professional Diploma. I was taught by some great bassists there such as Silas Meitland (Seal) and jazz virtuoso Franc O'Shea (Steve Howe). I have also been taught by jazz double bassists Terry Pack (Phil Hudson, Johnny Mars) and Eddie Myer (Turin Brakes).

Current and Past Projects

In over 20 years as a performing artist I have been involved in a number of projects stylistically ranging from rock and jazz to folk and world music. Among others I have worked with drummer John Roberts (The Block Heads) and guitarist Chris Pearce (Pete Thomas, Channel 5).

I'm currently performing with Carrie Tree, a talented singer/songwriter with an international following.

In 2013 we played Glastonbury festival on the Green Williams stage ( the Vaccines headlined on the same stage that day) and appeared on a radio show in Riga, Latvia. The previous year we recorded the "Perfectly Cast" EP. Carrie has worked with Damien Rice, with producer Dave Meegan (Marillion), and has appeared on stage with Lamb's Andy Barlow and Marillion.

In 2013 I joined West African musician Musa M'Boob on electric bass, together with London guitarist Yuri Betancourt Garcia and keyboardist Abiola Otusanya (leader of the jazz fusion EME band which has headlined at the Love Supreme festival summer of 2013 and 2014), performing a combination of music from The Gambia infused with jazz.

As a member of Dr Scardo in 2012, a band fronted by Simon (Tedd) Scardanelli (Big Bam Boo, MCA), I recorded bass for "Dark Dog Days". I have also sessioned on "Setting North" for Tim Bidwell (Kate Walsh, Fink) on his production of Cordelia "Gartside's EP Setting North" and on "Anniversaries" for Nick Williams (Willie Mason, The Magic Numbers).

Other activities include playing classical double bass with the Brighton and Hove Concert Orchestra and jazz bass with the Sussex Jazz Orchestra (SJO), which was founded by the late jazz trumpeter legend Ian Hamer (Tubby Hayes, Dizzy Gillespie). I was the SJO bassist from 2010 till 2012, during which time I have had the opportunity to share the stage with composer/pianist Paul Busby, trumpeter Martijn Van Galen, trombonist Tim Wade and others.
